Oh yeah, remember how I said I'd have plenty of time for FO posts last week? I guess not. Oh well.
I started training for my new job on Monday. It's at a Safelite call center and I've learned lots of things like glass can be tinted 6 different shades (Green, Blue, Gray, Bronze, Privacy, and Clear. Clear isn't used anymore so your windshield is probably green, blue, or gray) and what all the specific types of glass on a car are plus a bunch of other stuff. Today we sat in on some CSR's phone calls. All in all I think I'm going to like this job. =)
Also I've been sick since Monday. I got a cold, runny nose and a fever. I was inbetween jobs for 3 weeks and I get a cold on my first day of work! Yuck! Luckily I was still able to go to work and I'm almost over it. Tonight I made a big pot of vegetable soup and it was really good and made me feel much better. =)
This FO was a gift for my mother for her birthday and it's based on a wash cloth pattern.
Specs:
Yarn: Tahki Yarns Cotton Classic
Needles: US Size 6
Pattern: Oak Leaf Cloth By Marilyn Wallace (Ravel it!)
Mods: I cast on more stitches (I can't remember the specific amount) and knit it longer for a towel. For the top I decreased at the end of each row until there were only 11 stitches left and then I knit straight until the strap was long enough. I made a 3 stitch button hole knit 2 more rows and then bound off.
Thoughts: It's a cute pattern, but it was only written in line by line format which I didn't like. I ended up charting it for myself from the picture, so it is slightly different than the pattern.

I like charts a lot better than line by line instructions; I get lost in the line and then have to laboriously compare instructions to knitting.
Cute!
Girl, I have yet to figure out charts!
This project is lovely!
That's so cute! I love the leaf button.
