Neglect

I've been neglecting my knitting lately, in favor of a different fiber pursuit.

Ever since this batt arrived on my door ('North Sea' from Mad Angel Creations), I haven't been able to put down my spindles! Knitting has taken a back seat and I've been spindling my little heart out (also dreaming about it). This batt is merino (blue) with silk and noils (white). It's beautiful. It reminds me of a satellite picture of the earth. By the way, I want to give Mad Angel Creations mad props for getting this to me so quickly. I ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday. That's two (or three, depending on how you look at it) days, people!

I've already spun enough to fill my light weight spindle. I had to rewind it on a chop stick, the transfer process didn't go too well.

Paula also sent me a .2 oz sample of her Electric Blue silk top with noils. Awesome! It spun fine and I got ~30 yds of fingeringish weight yarn out of it. It's way yummy.

Also, since I seem to be strictly nonmonogamous in my fiber pursuits, I've been working on the correidale that the lovely Jesh sent me with my spindle (from her Etsy shop).

I'm starting Clockwork Orange today, and this week I finished Brideshead Revisited and Turn of the Screw. I'll be ready for this quarter to end!

Pretty fiber! I've been feeling like doing some spinning too. Maybe after finals are over...
